NASCAR gave the green flag honors to James Bond star Daniel Craig on Saturday at Charlotte Motor Speedway.

Donning a brown suit, the 53-year-old actor lived up his duties. He wagged the green flag several times to the field before Kyle Larsen took the checkered Roval 400 one.

Before the race, the Daily Mail reported that Craig made a heartfelt speech to the audience about the U.S. service members killed during the bombing at Kabul International Airport on August 26. The race also honored Nicole Gee, who was one of the 13 killed in that tragedy. Her husband, Marine Sgt. Jarod D. Gee and her best friend, Sgt. Mallory Harrison served as grand marshals.

NASCAR posted the clip early Monday morning as a crossover post into the week for the rest of us.

And a few fans loved it, one even retweeting the flag-waving with his quip, “The name is Flag. Green Flag.”

James Bond Star Familiar To Charlotte

English actor Daniel Craig’s 2017 “Logan Lucky” had the NASCAR track as a significant character in the film.

The Adam Driver-Channing Tatum movie’s plot revolved around stealing money at the speedway during a race.

Craig stole the show, playing an incarcerated criminal known for his safe-cracking experience named Joe Bang. We won’t give away too much of the plot, but the main characters break Bang out of prison just for this job.

Several NASCAR drivers appeared in the film, including former racers Jeff Gordon and Darrell Waltrip. Carl Edwards, Kyle Busch, Brad Keselowski, Joey Logano, Larson, and Ryan Blaney made cameo appearances.

Bond Movie Getting Rave Reviews

Audiences have given “No Time To Die” high marks with “certified fresh” ratings and audience scores in the 80s at Rotten Tomatoes.

In its opening weekend, Craig’s Bond film fell a little short of expectations. While the film had a $250 to $301 million budget, it took in $60 to $70 million, according to The Daily Mail.

But Craig’s final film as Bond still has a ways to go in pursuit of making money.

Craig Helps Out Fathers Over Suicide Cause

Recently, the James Bond actor gave over $13,600 to three fathers who lost their young daughters to suicide. Craig has a three-year-old daughter with Rachel Weisz and another son from a previous relationship.

The men are involved in a charity walk called 3 Dads Walking. The 300-mile walk hopes to bring awareness to the issue that affects families worldwide. Suicide prevention charity Papyrus is also involved.

Andy Airey, Mike Palmer, and Tim Owen are participating, and they said Craig’s donation was a wonderful surprise. They also thanked the James Bond actor.

‘We’d like to say a big thank you to Daniel,” the grieving father adds. “And every single person who has supported us so far.”
