The finishing top 20 drivers from Saturday’s Pocono race to determine Sunday’s lineup.

On Saturday, Buescher finished in 20th at the 2.5-mile track, locked in his front-row starting position. Saturday’s victor Alex Bowman will start in the 20th position. After attempting his fourth straight victory at yesterday’s Pocono race, Kyle Larson is heading to track defeated after blowing one of his tires.

The Hendrick Motorsports driver was able to overtake Alex Bowman with just four laps remaining in the race. He had been close behind him for the previous 15 laps. Suddenly, as Larson entered the race’s final turn, his No. 5 car blew its front left tire, ultimately costing him the win. He ended the race in 9th place.

“I guess that’s one thing that’s probably keeping me excited and not depressed, is that we get to go back again tomorrow,” Larson said after Saturday’s race. “I’m sure our backup car will be just as good as that one. Feel like we learned a lot about our car today. The track came to us a lot. I think we should be good tomorrow.”

NASCAR Driver Locks in Major Milestone of Career

As for Bowman’s response, he couldn’t help but feel bad about how things panned out for Larson, even though it sealed his win. “I hate to win that way, but hell, yeah, I’ll take it.”

As for Bowman, he garnered his fifth win of his career and his third win of the 2021 NASCAR Cup Series season. His win also gave Hendrick Motorsports a record 18th win at the track. The last time fans saw this was when Dale Earnhardt Jr. won the Pocono 400 in 2014.

As for this weekend’s starting lineup, NASCAR is back to using the original formula for determining the starting lineup.

Instead of using a formula, NASCAR will determine the starting lineup for Sunday’s race on the finishing order from the first race of the 2021 season’s doubleheader.
