NASCAR driver Bubba Wallace is gearing up for a big race tomorrow (Sunday) participating in the Pennzoil 400 race.

Wallace took to social media on Friday to declare he is ready for the race. He also shows off some photos of his car and gear. He will be driving for former NBA superstar Michael Jordan’s team 23XI. It is safe to say that Bubba Wallace is looking forward to getting in the car at Homestead-Miami Speedway.

“Prepped and ready for this weekend,” the racer says in the social media post. “Itching for a strong finish under the south Florida sun.”

Wallace fans are also hoping for a big day from their favorite NASCAR driver.

The photos show off the driver’s car, bright red racing suit and his shoes, which bear Jordan’s iconic number 23. Much has been made about Jordan’s recent NASCAR debut at the Daytona 500. Racing analysts say the duo of Jordan and Wallace are breaking racing barriers as an African American driver and car owner duo. The NBA icon is teaming with long time racing standout Denny Hamlin in his first NASCAR venture.

Bubba Wallace, Michael Jordan Hope for Better Showing

Now 27-years-old, Wallace has high hopes for the 2021 racing season and the same can be said for Jordan. The season got off to a big of a rocky start last week with Wallace’s car failing two inspections leading up the last week’s race. The Toyota Camry racing vehicle would eventually pass its third inspection attempt. The car would have to start the race from the back of the field.

The race didn’t go as the team hoped, with Wallace taking a 17th place finish after getting caught in a speedway crash. Wallace did do some good things in the race, becoming the first African American driver to lead a lap in the Daytona 500.

Wallace and Jordan will be looking for even better finish this Sunday in the Pennzoil 400. One thing we know for sure is that Wallace will be looking sharp in his new race digs.
