NASCAR’s Bubba Wallace Jokes With NFL’s Dez Bryant on Twitter

by Thad Mitchell

NASCAR Racer Bubba Wallace’s reply to a tweet from NFL Wide Receiver Dez Bryant has social media users laughing up a storm.

Bryant put out a two word tweet on Saturday asking a simple question. The former Pro Bowl Wideout simply want to “where is Wallace?”

“Where is Wallace?” Bryant asks of the Twitterverse.

Without much context added to the tweet, it isn’t easy to figure out who Bryant is asking about. Most speculate the question is in reference to Tylan Wallace, Oklahoma State University’s star wide receiver. Oklahoma State is Bryant’s Alma Mater, having played there from 2007 to 2009 before becoming a first-round draft choice of the Dallas Cowboys. While at OSU, Bryant earned All-American honors in 2008.

Bryant was likely watching Saturday’s matchup pitting his alma mater against Kansas State and noticed Tylan Wallace was not on the field.

Wallace missed the game with an injury. According to SB Nation, Wallace sat out after “tweaking” a previous muscle injury in pregame warmups. Wallace had 11 receptions for 187 yards and two scores in OSU’s loss to Texas last week. On the year, the wideout leads the Big 12 conference with 35 catches, 588 yards, and four touchdowns.

Bubba Wallace Responds to Dez Bryant

Racing Star Bubba Wallace took advantage of the ambiguous Tweet by replying with a GIF from one of the most popular movies of all time.

The GIF show Tom Hanks as Forrest Gump waving as his shrimping boat heads towards land. In the scene, Forrest Gump is waving at his former military commander and friend Lt. Dan, played by Gary Sinise.

Bryant recently made headlines last month when he joined the Super Bowl Contender Baltimore Ravens to bolster their receiving core. Bryant played only two snaps is Sunday’s win over the Indianapolis Colts. It was Bryant’s first game action since 2017. He described the experience as “surreal,” according to the Baltimore Sun.
