Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger went to the locker just before halftime against the Dallas Cowboys. Adam Schefter dropped the injury update to Twitter.

This is a massive blow to the 7-0 Steelers team if their quarterback remains out or is sidelined for any time.

Even though Roethlisberger is arguably one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL this year, his name is not in the MVP conversation. He has been crucial to the Steelers’ success so far.

Per ESPN, he’s thrown for 1,628 yards and 15 touchdowns with only 4 interceptions coming into Sunday’s game. Albeit, the Cowboys are among the NFL’s worst teams and the Steelers should win this game. If “Big Ben” really is injured badly, this adds to the laundry list of injuries that is the NFL this season.

That is to say though, at halftime, the Cowboys lead 13-6.

Moreover, Twitter quickly set the record straight on the injury to Roethlisberger. Some users decided to support the Steelers’ quarterback on Sunday, while other’s chose to mock him.

Fans remain confident that the quarterback will continue to play, and play extremely well. One user states that the Steeler’s quarterback will return in the second half and

Stay hot Twitter, stay hot. As the internet remains undefeated, Twitter stays at the top of the heap in terms of poking fun at celebrities and football players.

Unlike some other games this Sunday, the Steelers and Cowboys have a lot to play for. The Steelers need to win in order to stay atop the NFL, and the Cowboys need to win so as not to fall to the bottom of the NFC East division.

To that end though, Roethlisberger is still in the game and fighting back against a battered Cowboy’s team. For all intents and purposes, this season has not been kind to any NFL player, regardless of position. And in addition, the Washington Football Team lost their starting quarterback in their loss to the Giants. Another injury-plagued week of football has not yet claimed Roethlisberger.
