NFL: Bill Belichick Explains Why He ‘Can’t Stand’ Coffee

A man of few words, Bill Belichick offers his thoughts on coffee. On WEEI 93.7 a Boston Sport’s Radio, morning talk show began talking about coffee to which Bill chimed in. In an interview mixed with Jets talk, Belichick offers his controversial thoughts.

As Ordway, Merloni & Fauria talk, about Alex Cora starting his next segment as manager of the Boston Red Sox, they offhandedly mention coffee. At this point, Belichick’s raspy voice chimes in with, “I don’t like coffee.”

Immediately the hosts begin a slew of questions about why he thinks coffee is bad. Not only does Belichick dislike coffee, he hates it. And he doubles down on the comment, “Look, I mean I understand I am probably missing it, but I just don’t like coffee.”

Belichick didn’t hesitate to continue his bashing session of coffee in general. He says, “I can’t stand the smell of coffee. I don’t like coffee ice cream and I like every sweet that has ever been made. But, that’s not one of them.”

Belichick Doesn’t Like Dunkin’ Donuts

However much Patriots fans love Bill, Boston natives and Dunkin diehards may not love this interview. “Nothing against coffee. Nothing against Dunkin’ Donuts. Nothing against anything, it’s just not for me.”

Further noting his disdain for coffee, he adds, “It’s just one of those things I didn’t develop a taste for. I didn’t develop a taste for scotch either. I tried that. I just couldn’t develop a taste for it,” he added.

Additionally, Belichick doesn’t like flavored coffee, a Dunkin’ staple. He adds that, “I just don’t have the taste for it. I’ve tried, but it just doesn’t work for me. My grandmother put a glass of milk and poured like probably a thimble of coffee and I couldn’t even drink that.”

So, before the Scotch and Dunkin’ lovers revolt against Belichick, just remember that he probably loves water way more than all of us.

But this certainly makes you wonder what the Patriots head coach drinks to get energized in the morning. Perhaps the man is mostly robotic and doesn’t need anything but milk and Subway to fuel his system. The world might just never know.
