Every single fan of the NFL has seen this scenario play out with great disappointment and anguish with little recourse.
Your favorite NFL team is playing their division rival for a chance to make the upcoming playoffs. You have turned your whole living room into a sanctuary full of your team’s color. You’re draped in the jersey of your favorite player from your favorite team. You couldn’t be any more excited for an afternoon of football if you tried. So you flip your television to the channel that the game is supposed to be played on. You are bursting with joy as your just minutes from your team taking the field with a sense of victory in the air.
You won’t be seeing your favorite team take the field today. Your local network provider has decided to show a game between two bottom dwellers instead of a legitimate matchup between playoff contenders. It is one of the most frustrating things that an NFL fan can go through and we’ve all been there. Local networks care very little about your game day preferences in regards to which team will get air time this week. Nine times out of ten, they won’t even consider which game means what. They simply choose the game that is geographically closest to their viewing area. No, you won’t be watching the Tampa Bay Buccaneers take on the Green Bay Packers this Sunday afternoon. You’ll be watching the New York Jets face the Cincinnati Bengals in a battle for last place. You’ve entered into NFL purgatory and there is seemingly no way out.
But, fear not NFL fans — the internet is here to save the football day, Football fans have several options when it comes to streaming NFL games, even without cable.
How to Stream NFL Games
Five different networks air live NFL games each weekend. These networks are ESPN, Fox, NBC, CBS and the NFL Network. There are a couple of different streaming options for fans to find their desired game. These networks are available to stream online via platforms like YouTube TV, Hulu, Fubu TV and Sling TV.
If you don’t wish to subscribe to one of the services just to watch NFL games, there are other options as well. An HD Antennae is a relatively inexpensive option that allows for access to local network affiliates NBC, ABC and CBS.
We are still a few weeks away from the start of the NFL regular season. We highly suggest that you look into streaming avenues and never miss your team’s big game.
Most NFL teams have one final preseason game as a tune-up for the quickly approaching season. The first game of the new season will feature the Tampa Bay Buccaneers facing the Dallas Cowboys on September 9.
