Carson Wentz is in his fourth season with the Eagles. For his first three years, he looked like a great fit for the team. They even scored a Super Bowl win in 2018 over the Patriots. That has all changed, though. Wentz is currently one of the most underperforming quarterbacks in the league.
NFL legend Steve Young talked about this on KNBR Podcast earlier this week. In a clip shared on Twitter, Young gives his opinion on what he thinks is going on and what he thinks should be done about it.
Steve Young on Carson Wentz – “Bench Him”
Young said that he thinks Carson Wentz has lost his mind. In his opinion, the problem with the Eagles’ QB is that he’s trying to do too much. He’s making bad decisions, throwing careless passes, and having an all-around bad season. Wentz has gone from a fan-favorite to one of the worst quarterbacks in the league this season.

Young says that Wentz needs to get some perspective. According to the NFL veteran, Carson Wentz needs to take some time off, get away, and get some perspective in order to get him back into the right frame of mind,
What Carson Wentz Needs According to Steve Young
In the interview, Young didn’t mince words. He said the young QB needs some “Steve Young psychotherapy.” By this, he means that someone needs to tell Carson Wentz that he can’t do everything. He needs to find a handful of things that work for him and his team, focus on those things, and move forward accordingly.
As it stands, the Eagles have elected to start Jalen Hurts over Wentz in the upcoming game against the New Orleans Saints this Sunday afternoon at Lincoln Financial Field.
