Reports: Tom Brady Signs Contract Extension with Tampa Bay Buccaneers

According to a report by EPSN.com on Friday, the contract agreed to between Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers is a four-year extension. This extension actually “voids to a one-year extension,” according to the report.

This means that Brady will stay remain with the team through the 2022 season, according to information gathered by the network’s Adam Schefter.

ESPN.com also reported that Brady signing the new deal will save the Buccaneers franchise $19 million on the cap. This will reportedly allow the franchise to return many members of the Super Bowl-winning team next season.

Another player who has recently signed an extension with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers is linebacker Lavonte David. ESPN has reported that he signed a two-year extension. And, according to ESPN.com, David had some very good things to say about Tom Brady.

“Tom is one of those guys that understands that it takes a whole village to win,” David reportedly said. “It takes a team, a group of guys, to win football games. Me, the same thing. I’m all about team. And I’ll do what I can, do what it takes to hopefully get everybody back and go do this thing again. … The bond that we had, the bond that we shared this year — it was like no other.”
