Thoughts and prayers continue to pour in for Tiger Woods after his horrifying car crash this morning. From Jack Nicklaus to his ex-girlfriend Lindsey Vonn, celebrities, golfers, and athletes alike have been reaching out. Most recently, the ex-LPGA star and Instagram personality Paige Spiranac reacted to the serious crash on Twitter.
“Very scary news with Tiger,” she wrote in her Twitter post. “Please let him be okay.”
Paige Spiranac is not the only one hoping that Tiger Woods will be okay. Around the world, people refresh their social media feeds hoping for an update on the golf legend’s condition. Some of Paige Spiranac’s fans share their concern in the comments.
“I’m so gutted,” one fan wrote, sharing that terrible feeling everyone has in their stomach when something bad happens. “Awful news, all fingers crossed,” another fan added.
One of Paige Spiranac’s fans, however, seemed to come late to the party. “What happened!?” the fan asked. Paige filled him in on the Tiger Woods situation. “Horrible car accident,” she responded. “In surgery right now.”
Updates on Tiger Woods Crash
Paige Spiranac is correct, Tiger Woods did enter surgery upon arrival to the hospital. The surgery will address injuries sustained in both of his legs. These injuries are certainly serious, however, Tiger’s agent confirmed that they are not life-threatening.
The 15-time major golf champion is no stranger to surgery. For instance, he has undergone seven surgeries in the past six years including this one on his legs.
Most recently, Tiger Woods underwent surgery to address a pinched nerve in his back just a month ago. He planned to recover and return for the Masters in April. However, this car crash seems to have derailed that plan.
Tiger’s most-recent back surgery addressed just one of the multitude of issues and injuries he has dealt with in his back for the past ten years. His back issues got so bad, that he went six years without winning a tournament. Now, for most, winning two tournaments in the PGA is a big deal in and of itself, but for Tiger Woods, the greatest golfer of all time, a six-year drought is unthinkable.
He did, however, make an epic comeback in 2018 and 2019, returning to winning form. In 2019, he won the Masters to win his fifteenth major championship and complete the comeback of a lifetime.
This April, he planned to chase his sixteenth major championship at the Masters to move up to two behind Jack Nicklaus on the all-time list. Now, we just hope we get to see Tiger Woods play another match. hopefully, Tiger will make a speedy recovery and get back to doing what he loves and what we love to watch him do.
