Paige Spiranac Tweets Hockey Highlight, Relates It To the Golf Course

The NHL is roughly a third of the way through its season and lots of hockey left to play. On Wednesday, March 3, the Washington Capitals played the Boston Bruins at TD Garden. Instagram influencer and golf star, Paige Spiranac was watching the game and made a hilarious reference back to a golf feud.

This was a special game because it marks the first time that Zdeno Chara is back in Boston. The former Bruins captain is now playing for the Capitals after playing for the Bruins for 14 seasons, from 2006-2020. Additionally, he served as the team’s captain for all 14 of those years.

Nonetheless, the fireworks began early in the Bruins and Capitals game. Even though the game was low scoring, the teams were battling the entire game. One moment, in particular, stands out above the rest. Alex Ovechkin, the captain of the Capitals, was batting for a puck with Trent Frederic.

After a couple of cross-checks from each of them, Ovechkin had enough of the exchange and gave him a cup check. Frederic immediately drops to the ice in obvious pain.

Paige Spiranac Compares a Hockey Highlight to the Brooks and Bryson Feud

Paige Spiranac was clearly watching this game and took note of the interaction between the two guys. But, she saw this as an opportunity to equate it back to golf. She points out that Brooks Koepka would have loved to be able to take a hockey stick, or perhaps a driver, and take a shot at Bryson DeChambeau.

As Paige Spiranac most likely knows, during this game, Trent Frederic tried to fight Alex Ovechkin. Frederic clearly had a bone to pick with Ovechkin and had him by the collar with his gloves off. But, Ovechkin didn’t oblige him, so the fight didn’t happen.

Again, Paige Spiranac misses going to live games. In particular, she says that “I miss going to hockey games the most. Best sport to watch in person.” It is the fastest human-powered sport, and for those who are fans, it stands out as one of the most entraining.

The model compares the play to Brooks and Bryson’s feud. This is one of those instances where fighting being allowed in other sports would be highly entertaining. Imagine if Brooks could fight Bryson on the golf course? Paige Spiranac might be the first one to sign the petition to allow that to happen.
