On Wednesday, Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes’ charity, 15 and the Mahomies Foundation, revealed they’ll be donating 30,000 total meals to the East Texas Food Bank.
The Texas food bank will receive 15,000 meals for each of their upcoming produce distributions. The two events will take place in Tyler, Texas this coming Saturday and next Friday.
The first event will be hosted by Green Acres Baptist Church on February 27th from 10 a.m. to noon. Additionally, another food drive will be held at Lindsey Park on March 5th from 10 a.m. to noon as well. Each of the distributions are drive-thru events to help with social distancing due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The foundation’s announcement said they are contributing to the events to show support for families recovering from the winter storm in Texas. Thousands of Texas residents were affected by the recent winter storm, with many losing power for multiple days.
Mahomes’ foundation supports multiple charities, including the East Texas Food Bank. 15 and the Mahomies Foundation announced the significant food donation on their official Twitter account.
Patrick Mahomes and Fiancée Welcome Newborn Baby Girl
Over the weekend, Patrick Mahomes and his fiancée, Brittany Matthews, announced the birth of their first child. On Saturday, Feb. 20, the parents welcomed their daughter Sterling Skye Mahomes into the world.
The mother and baby girl both seem to be doing well following the birth. Sterling was born weighing 6 pounds, 11 ounces and the proud parents shared the big news the following day.
Matthews officially announced Sterling’s arrival on her Instagram and Twitter accounts. Mahomes retweeted Matthews’ photo on his own Twitter account. The adorable picture captures a close up of the parents holding Sterling’s tiny hand.
Mahomes and Matthews’ engagement and subsequent pregnancy have been in the spotlight since they were announced. In September, Mahomes proposed to Matthews at Arrowhead Stadium. Additionally, the Chiefs quarterback received his Super Bowl LIV ring the same day during the team’s celebration. Later that same month, the high school sweethearts announced that they were expecting their first child together.
