Patrick Mahomes’s fiancé snapped some photos of herself getting ready to cheer on her husband before the AFC championship game.
Last week, people questioned whether the Chiefs quarterback could play in Sunday night’s game. Mahomes had to leave last week’s divisional-round game after sustaining a concussion. Mahomes wasn’t cleared from the NFL’s protocol until Friday. The star quarterback was also dealing with a turf toe injury. However, Mahomes played through it all Sunday night. He went 29-of-38 passing for 325 yards and three touchdowns.
Reporters asked Mahomes when he felt confident in his ability to play. His answer, “From the warm-ups on,” said Mahomes. “We did a good job as far as rehabbing, getting myself ready to go. I felt like I was myself out there, and we were able to go out there and score points against a really good football team,” he said.
Patrick Mahomes’s fiancé, Brittany Matthews was there for it all. She watched the game with her family and Mahomes’s family. Before the game, she snapped some pictures of herself in the box seats. Along with photos highlighting her baby bump, she wrote, “Let’s do this.” She even had “Mahomes” embroidered on her jacket.
Patrick Mahomes Will Play First Superbowl Game With Daughter
After last night’s game, Mahomes and the Chiefs solidified their spot in Super Bowl LV. The Chiefs will take on the Buccaneers in Tampa Bay on February 7. Although baby Mahomes won’t be here in time to actually watch the Super Bowl, she already has future gameday gear ready.
Matthews recently shared a photo of a custom Mahomes jean jacket for their daughter. Along with the Mahomes name across the top, the jacket says “Daddy” with Mahomes’s number 15. Matthews shared the photos on her Instagram story and wrote, “Baby girl will be born ready for game days.”
The jacket even includes patches of the family dogs.
In conclusion, with a Super Bowl waiting and a baby on the way, life is looking pretty good for Patrick Mahomes.
