Matthews shared her displeasure on Twitter as Kansas City was being called for a lot of penalties throughout the first half against Tampa Bay.
The Buccaneers held a 21-6 halftime score over the Chiefs. Quarterback Tom Brady managed to connect with his old teammate and favorite target Rob Gronkowski for 8- and 17-yard touchdown passes. With time running out in the first half, Brady tossed a 1-yard touchdown pass to wide receiver Antonio Brown.
On the final scoring drive, the Chiefs’ Tyrann Matthieu was called for a defensive penalty that put Tampa Bay on the Chiefs’ 1-yard line. That and other calls against Kansas City stirred up the ire of many Chiefs’ fans, including Brittany Matthews.
Kansas City got the ball on the first possession of the second half, yet could only manage a field goal.
