The congratulations and celebrations continue to pour in following the birth of Patrick Mahomes and his fiancee’s first child. Most recently, the Union Station building in Kansas City lit up pink and white to celebrate the arrival of Sterling Skye Mahomes. The iconic Kansas City building sent their love and congratulations to the engaged couple via Twitter. Brittany Matthews wasted no time in thanking them for their kind display.
“Congratulations Brittany Matthews and Patrick Mahomes on the arrival of Sterling Skye Mahomes,” Union Station wrote on Twitter with an accompanying video of their light show display. “With tonight’s pink and white lighting, Union Station and Science City wish you and your new family many happy years together here in KC.”
Brittany Matthews responded with “Y’all are just so sweet” followed by a string of emojis. Union Station also commented with a photo of the epic display of congratulations.

Union City, however, was not the only thing in Kansas City to congratulate the Chiefs superstar. Several teammates to Patrick Mahomes, also Tweeted out his support for the new parents. For instance, Travis Kelce sent out his congratulations in a Tweet to Brittany Matthews.

Patrick Mahomes in Kansas City
It is no surprise that Kansas City wants Patrick Mahomes to stick around. In his first year as a starter, he led the team to the AFC Championship. The Chiefs lost to Tom Brady and the Patriots, but they made up for it the next year. In the 2019 season, Patrick Mahomes led the Chiefs to the Super Bowl, winning the Super Bowl MVP along the way. They returned to the big game once again this year, however, Tom Brady got the best of Patrick Mahomes once again.
Luckily, Patrick Mahomes and Brittany Matthews will get to see “many happy years together here in KC,” just as Union Station suggested. Mahomes signed a contract extension with the Chiefs worth over $450 million over the next ten years. Tacking on the last two years of his rookie contract, that means Mahomes and Matthews could be in Kansas City through 2032. So heres to many more happy years to the young family.
