The 2021 Masters is here. And after a year of silent golf and empty stadiums, fans are returning to sporting events in limited numbers. A couple of those fans just so happen to be two of the biggest names in football.
That’s right. Patrick Mahomes and Trevor Lawrence crossed paths at the Masters on Thursday. We can’t be sure exactly what they talked about, but the two young superstars were all smiles as they walked around Augusta National Golf Club.
And the pair certainly have plenty to smile about. Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes and his fiancée Brittany Matthews just welcomed their daughter, Sterling Skye Mahomes, to the world back in February.
Speaking of fiancées… Trevor Lawrence, the former Clemson quarterback who will likely be taken first overall at the NFL Draft this year, was enjoying the Masters environment with his wife-to-be Marissa Mowry. The lovebirds are getting married this weekend and they couldn’t look happier.
Patrick Mahomes At The Masters
The pair of quarterbacks represent the best talent in the NFL and the most promising new addition to the league, respectively.
Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes already has an NFL MVP and a Super Bowl victory under his belt at just 25 years old. He nearly won a second title this past year, but Tom Brady and the Bucs proved too strong a team.
Now, Mahomes will face stiff competition in his own conference, with Trevor Lawrence being touted as the future Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback. The Jags have the first pick in the NFL Draft this year, and Lawrence seems like the natural choice.
The two young athletes looked friendly to each other on Thursday. But come April 29, they will only be standing in each other’s way.
Another name that shouldn’t go unmentioned is Travis Kelce. The All-Pro Chiefs tight end and Mahomes seem joined at the hip, and they’re no strangers to golf events either. The two played together in the American Century Championship last year.
Their bromance is one for the ages.
