Kansas City Chiefs star quarterback Patrick Mahomes is preparing to take on the Cleveland Browns this weekend. The playoff matchup between two of the best teams in the NFL will determine who moves on the AFC championship game.

With so much on the line, Patrick Mahomes likely doesn’t need any extra motivation but he may have gotten it anyway. The quarterback is having a Most Valuable Player type season and the Chiefs appear to have the momentum heading into the game. The extra bit of motivation, supplied by Browns wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr., might push the All-Pro quarterback to new heights.

The Browns are coming of their best season in over a decade, but are underdogs in the Sunday afternoon matchup with the Chiefs. The Browns, in the NFL playoffs for the first time since 2002, will try to play the spoiler to the Chiefs run. Beckham Jr. certainly thinks his team can pull off the upset after squashing the Pittsburgh Steelers last week. The wide receiver, who had a fantastic years in his own right, took to social media on Thursday to predict his team to take home the win.

“Don’t be surprised this weekend when they win,” he say of the team’s chances against the favored Chiefs. “Just throwing it out there now.”

Patrick Mahomes ‘Likes’ Tweet Predicting Browns Win

Perhaps providing one of the league’s top player with more motivation was not a wise move on the receiver’s part. Mahomes not only noticed the tweet but also put in a “like” for it.

Mahomes has been his usual self this season, making plays that seemingly no other NFL players can make. He, along with Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers, are frontrunners for the MVP award.

Mahomes has thrown 4,470 yards with 38 touchdowns to just six interceptions. His passer rating on the season is 108.2, ranking among the best in the league, according to Pro Football Reference.

Beckham Jr. was set to have a big year as a top target for Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield this season. The All-Pro wide receiver has battle injuries throughout the season. He won’t be suiting up this weekend to take on Mahomes and the Chiefs. Instead, he will provide support to his teammates from the sidelines. The wideout has been out with an injury since Week 7 of the regular season.
