Peyton & Eli Manning Set to Call Multiple Monday Night Football Games After Inking New Deal

There is reason to celebrate for fans of the NFL as the Manning brothers will be returning to professional football.

No, Peyton and Eli will not be coming out of retirement and lacing up their cleats for game day. Instead, the Manning brothers will be stepping behind the announcer’s booth for the 2021 season. ESPN has obtained the services of the Mannings as they will be part of the Monday Night Football team. The brothers won’t be the primary announcers for the MNF game but will join an all-new broadcast of the game. The sports network is dubbing the alternative game broadcast as a “Megacast.”

The Manning brothers will appear on the megacast for 10 weeks, according to Outkick.

“ESPN signed Peyton and Eli Manning to host an alternate version of MNF on ESPN2 for ten weeks a year,” the Tweet states. “This is a smart move. Could be really fun.”

ESPN says the Mannings will appear on the alternate broadcast for 10 Monday Games Football this season and also in 2022 and 2023. They will broadcast from a remote location and could be joined by various celebrities and former players. The Manning brothers are the only two megacast announcers that have been announced so far, but others are expected to join in.

NFL fans will also continue to have the option of watching the traditional broadcast of Monday Night Football on ESPN. The booth lineup for the weekly game will be Steve levy, Louis Riddick, Lisa Salter and John Parry.

Manning Brothers Will Headline New Broadcast

Monday Night Football is traditionally one of the most-watched broadcasts throughout the year. Most NFL matchups are played on Sunday, meaning Monday evening’s game has no competitors. A television ratings giant, ESPN hopes the addition of Peyton and Eli Manning will have even more people tuning in.

“The Monday Night Football MegaCast will air on ESPN2 for 10 games in each of the next three seasons and will include current and former NFL players and celebrities joining the Manning brothers on the broadcast,” ESPN says. “A host has not been named.”

Two of the most successful players ever, Peyton and Eli are beloved by the football community.

After a successful collegiate career at the University of Tennessee, Peyton Manning was selected first overall by the Indianapolis Colts in the 1998 NFL draft. His wildly successful career culminated with his elections to the College Football Hall of Fame and NFL Hall of Fame.

Eli Manning played collegiately at Ole Miss and was also picked first overall by the San Diego Chargers in the 2004 NFL Draft. He was then traded to the New York Giants with whom he won two Super Bowls.
