Carson Wentz has become the whipping boy in Philadelphia, and for good reason. During Sunday’s game against the Cleveland Browns, Wentz threw arguably the worst interception of his season.

To clarify, this certainly is not his first interception of the year. In fact, it is his league-leading thirteenth interception this year. This one was particularly awful as it was returned by the Browns’ Sione Takitaki for a pick-six.

Carson Wentz has been mediocre at best this season. As of this game, he has thrown 13 touchdowns with 13 interceptions and 2,237 passing yards. Arguably the most abysmal part of his game has been his quarterback rating. At 50.3 QBR, that is good for 27th worst in the NFL, as well as being by far the worst of his career.

There are not many excuses available for a throw this bad, as Eagles fans point out below. Wentz’s errant pass sailed well-wide of his receiver and into the waiting arms of Takitaki.

Philadelphia Eagles and NFL Fans alike are calling for Wentz’s starter badge.

Twitter Goes Nuts Over Wentz

A simple yet eloquent gif of Step Brothers states one Eagles fan’s opinion. Even Dallas Cowboy fans are becoming fans with Carson Wentz this year.

The quarterback is single-handedly keeping the NFC East division tight – and awful.

A podcast’s Twitter page mocks Wentz for throwing the football to defenses more than he throws it to his own team. While it is only a hyperbole, it rings true for Eagles fans.

Unfortunately for Wentz, the onslaught continues. Fans are clamoring for Jalen Hurts to take over as the starter. Only time will tell when or if Hurts takes over as the starting quarterback.

However, when the Eagles inevitably lose this game, they will still be first in their division. Regardless of the other NFC East teams playing this week, Wentz and the Eagles’ tie means they still own first place with points. As the game concludes, the Eagles likely will drop to 3-6-1.
