Enjoying some much-needed downtime before the 2021 NFL season kicks off, Kansas City Chiefs quarter Patrick Mahomes and tight end Travis Kelce team up with music superstar Justin Timberback to participate in the 2021 American Century Championship golf tournament in Lake Tahoe, Nevada.
The trio was spotted by Harrah’s Lake Tahoe chatting and fist-bumping each other. The casino posted a snapshot of the guys with the caption “Dream Team.”
During an interview on the course, Justin Timberlake shares the key advice he gave to both Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelco about golf. “Keep your head down,” Timberlake states. Mahomes then chimes in with, “The thing I’ve always learned from Justin is to swing as hard as you can and hope it works out.”
Along with a few rounds of golf, Mahomes and Kelce made special appearances on NFL’s Total Access.
Patrick Mahomes Shares Update on Surgically Repaired Toe
During a recent interview with CBS, Patrick Mahomes shares an update about his surgically repaired toe. “The toe’s feeling great. I’m out here playing golf, being able to walk around the course.” Patrick also states that he’s been able to run, cut, jump, throw, and basically “do it all.” He says he can’t wait to return to training camp and have a chance at returning to the Super Bowl this upcoming season.
Patrick Mahomes notably had surgery back in February 2021 to fix a turf toe injury that she sustained during the division round of the NFL playoffs. The quarterback managed to play two and a half games with the injury and had the surgery three days after the 2021 Super Bowl.
Patrick Mahomes also discusses how this offseason has been a bit different from the previous seasons. “It’s different in a sense that you don’t have the parades and all that different type of stuff,” he explains. “But I think the beautiful thing about the NFL is every single year, you start from scratch.”
Mahomes has been enjoying the offseason by spending time with his fiancée Brittany Matthew and their daughter, Sterling. The couple welcomed the baby girl in February. The couple waited until last month to share snapshots of the beautiful baby. Prior to the first public picture, Brittany discusses the importance of privacy for the newborn. “We will share photos of [Sterling] when we [feel] the time is right,” she explains in an Instagram Story.
She then states that the Internet will “instantly” take photos of her and share them everywhere. Brittany simply wanted to prepare herself for the little one to be shared around the world. “Right now, we are just soaking in every minute with her.”
Brittany and Patrick also recently announced that they are planning to get married sometime in the next year.
