The European team at the Ryder Cup is trying to win over American fans. Rory McElroy and company got creative. Since the tournament is taking place in Wisconsin, there are tons of Packers fans around. So, Team Europe decided to pander a bit and try to win some extra support.

When in Sheboygan…wear cheese heads. Team Europe pulled up to the Ryder Cup with the famous headgear. Then, just to make things better, they each took the hats off, signed them, and tossed them into the crowd. While the weekend will be dedicated to the USA vs. Europe, who wouldn’t want a McIlroy cheesehead?

To top off the look, they went with yellow and green trim on their outfits. Honestly, they looked less like Team Europe and more like Team Australia. The Aussies athletic teams are known for their yellow and green uniforms. However, it looked like the crowd got a kick out of it and the golfers loved it too. Most of them laughed coming out of the tunnel.

It turns out, the Green Bay Packers were behind this a bit. They were the ones who gave the team the hats. So, I don’t know who we need to charge with treason at the Packers organization, but this is a serious crime…or it should be.

The action starts tomorrow morning, Friday, September 23. Viewers can check it out on the Golf Channel or Peacock. Things tee off at 8 AM EST and go until 7 PM. It will be another full day of action on Saturday and Sunday as well.

Heading into this weekend, Europe has won 7 out of the last 10 Ryder Cup matches. Including 4 of the last 5. The United States last won back in 2016.

2021 Ryder Cup, Team USA’s Chances

As mentioned above, Team USA has not had a lot of success in this event in recent years. This year, they will try to bring home the cup for the first time since 2016 and put themselves back on track in the recent history of this tournament.

Team USA has the talent and the players to win this event. There is no shortage of big names on this year’s roster. Of course, Team Europe has its own names and talent. So, it will be a hard-fought tournament by the time Sunday ends. Here is the list of names for the United States.

Just some of the names on Team USA’s Ryder Cup roster include vice-captain Phil Mickelson, the roster features Dustin Johnson, Brooks Koepka, Jordan Spieth, and Justin Thomas. There are a number of other great players on the roster. Team Europe features Paul Casey, Tommy Fleetwood, Sergio Garcia, and Rory McIlroy just to name a few. These teams will be ready to go in the morning and all through the weekend.
