There were many things that were postponed in 2020 and that includes Pro Football Hall of Fame inductions. The Pro Football Hall of Fame Class of 2020 will be inducted soon.
With the new class of inductees, the Hall of Fame grows larger. Legendary players and coaches make up the classes each year, and this rendition is no different. Each person impacted the sport of professional football in their own ways.
This Saturday marks the induction of the Pro Football Hall of Fame Class of 2020. The large class will feature players, coaches, contributors, and senior members. Among the inductees is coach Jimmy Johnson. He will be joined by fellow coach Bill Cowher as the only two coaches in the class.
Back in the 1990s, Johnson helped lead the Dallas Cowboys to back-to-back Super Bowl titles. As for Coach Cowher, his shining moment came when the Pittsburgh Steelers won it all in 2005. There will be five modern-era players inducted. Included in that group are very memorable names.
When the players are inducted, fans will definitely remember each player. Defensive back Steve Atwater was one of the most feared backs through the 1990s. With 24 career interceptions, Atwater terrorized offenses. While in Denver, Atwater helped bring two Super Bowls back to the Mile High City. Atwater is one of just two defensive players in the class.
Joining Atwater from the defensive side of the ball is Troy Polamalu. There are few more recognizable players from the 2000s than Polamalu. During his career with the Steelers, the Safety racked up 32 career interceptions. He scored three touchdowns and helped the Steelers win two Super Bowls. Polamalu will join his former coach, Bill Cowher in the class.

As for the other inductees, three offensive players are part of the class. While less known than the previously mentioned defensive stars, these guys are legends in their own right. Former Los Angeles/St. Louis Ram, Issac Bruce will be inducted. Throughout his career, Bruce made four pro-bowls. While with the Rams, Bruce helped the organization win a Super Bowl back in the year 2000. That Super Bowl is the franchise’s only.
Other names included in the class are offensive lineman Steve Hutchinson and running back Edgerrin James. While neither Hutchinson nor James won a Super Bowl, they are both Hall of Fame worthy. While in the league, Hutchinson made seven Pro Bowls and six All-Pro teams. As a member of the 2000s All-Decade team, there aren’t many linemen with Hutchinson’s resume.
Edgerrin James made a living running hard and often. With over 80 touchdowns and over 12,000 yards rushing, there are few running backs better. While each of those players has incredible resumes they make up a small portion of the Hall of Fame class.
There are a number of senior members as well as contributors that will be inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame Class of 2020 along with the coaches and players mentioned. Among those is former Commissioner Paul Tagliabue who led the league throughout the 90s and early 2000s.
