After ten seasons with the Houston Texans, J.J Watt will leave the team this offseason. He made the announcement on Twitter with a heartfelt video message. In the video, Watt thanks the city of Houston for their love and support for him in his time with the organization.

T.J. Watt, the Pittsburg Steelers star and brother of J.J. took the release a little more lightly than his brother. He responded to his brother’s heartfelt message with a hilarious clip of Dwayne “the Rock” Johnson.

The hilarious clip shows the Rock gesturing for someone to ‘come here’ with his hand. T.J Watt, of course, would be absolutely thrilled for his brother to join him in Pittsburg next season.

As of now, J.J. Watt has not yet disclosed any of his future plans, but we can assume Pittsburg definitely makes the list. This should make for an interesting offseason among several other blockbuster trades across the NFL.

J.J. Watt on his Release

J.J. Watt posted a heartfelt video message on Twitter this morning regarding his release. In the video, he addresses the city of Houston where he has spent his ten-year career. The stud defensive end and the Texans mutually decided it was time to part ways as they both try to move forward.

“I wanted to do this on video as opposed to putting out a statement or a press conference or anything,” J.J. Watt said in his video message. “Because I want you to hear it directly from me. I want to speak directly to you and to the city of Houston so that you can hear the words directly from my mouth. I have sat down with the McNair family and I have asked them for my release and we have mutually agreed to part ways at this time.”

Watt got into his feels a bit as he recalled his excellent time with the Texans and the people he got to know there. Whether or not he decides to join T.J. Watt up in Pittsburg, the people of Houston will certainly miss him. He also took a little jab at Houston fans in the middle of the message thanking them.

“I came here 10 years ago as a kid from Wisconsin that had never been to Texas before,” J.J. Watt continued. “Now I can’t imagine my life without Texas in it. The way that you guys have treated me– besides Draft night, you guys boo’d me on the Draft night– but every day after that you treated me like family. And I truly feel like you are my family.”
