Call it Super Bowl bummer. Where was the tight game fans expected between Kansas City, the defending champions, and Tampa Bay and quarterback Tom Brady?

Yawn. The Buccaneers and Brady won the game, 31-9. Brady won his seventh Super Bowl ring. We’ve seen that before. He’s always brilliant. The 43-year-old also was the Super Bowl MVP. He was on the field with his beautiful family to accept the trophy.

“I think we knew this was going to happen tonight, didn’t we,” Brady told viewers after the game.

And fans on social media were doing their best collective boos to give a thumbs down to the blowout.

This about summed it up. “Super Bowl. Whether you want the Bucs or the Chiefs to win, you have to admit, this game SUCKED!

One fan wrote: “Honestly this game sucked. We were robbed of the legendary potential this matchup had because of all the penalties in the first half and the chiefs offensive line injuries. #goBucs and Brady deserved to win but Mahomes deserved a better fate. His teammates let him down #SuperBowl.”

Another wrote: “This game stunk. Absolutely stunk #SuperBowl.”

Patrick Mahomes Struggled While Tom Brady Dazzled

Patrick Mahomes, the Chiefs quarterback and last year’s Super Bowl MVP, struggled all evening at Raymond James Stadium. The Tampa defense sacked Mahomes three times and intercepted him twice. The Chiefs high-octane offense managed only three field goals. Kansas City’s last score came on their opening drive of the second half.

Meanwhile, the game had no scoring in the fourth quarter. Tom Brady threw three touchdown passes — all in the first half.

One disgruntled fan wrote: “The game was still better than the halftime show. And the game was really really bad.”

Did we mention the halftime show? The Weeknd was the star. But a lot of fans didn’t quite get his performance art. He usually plays the part of a young man who had a bad, bad night in Vegas. At times, he doesn’t break character. He showed up at the American Music Awards with his face covered in bandages. On Sunday night, his dancers wore the bandages with their red coats and black pants.

Another viewer posted: “What a yawner of a Super Bowl. Too bad it was so asymmetrical.”

Then there was Skip Bayless, the Fox Sports analysts, who likes to take a contrarian view on everything, including the Super Bowl. He applauded it. Check that, he applauded Tom Brady.

Bayless wrote (all caps) “DO PEOPLE REALIZE HOW IMPOSSIBLE IT WAS FOR TOM BRADY TO TAKE A 7-9 TEAM WITH NO PRESEASON GAMES THROUGH WASHINGTON’S NO. 2 D, THROUGH DREW BREES AND AARON RODGERS TO A SUPER BOWL CHAMPIONSHIP IN HIS FIRST YEAR AWAY FROM NEW ENGLAND AT AGE 43?”
