Former NFL quarterback and current New York Mets baseball player, Tim Tebow, is branching out from his athlete role.
Now, he is releasing his first-ever book. The book is called “Bronco & Friends: A Party to Remember.” As you may have guessed from the title, the book is geared for a very young audience.
Tebow Honors Late Bronco
Tebow’s venture into the world of children’s books is devoted to his late dog, Bronco. His Rhodesian Ridgeback died in 2019 and this is meant to be in honor of his furry friend. Bronco is the main character in the book.
In the story, a group of animals searches for meaning and purpose by working together. It features a flightless bird and a goat with severe allergies.
“Bronco was such an amazing dog and I wanted to honor him. I remember when I was a young boy and my mom and dad would read to me and I remember how impactful those stories were and I wanted to write a children’s book for all the young boys and girls out there to encourage them and their worth and that they’re unique, they are special, they are wonderful,” Tebow said on “Good Morning America.”
He and Bronco were together for nine years before he passed away. Tebow often referred to him as his child, so there is no denying the kind of bond the two had.
Tim Tebow and Make A Wish
Bronco is clearly the main character of the book. He’s even the athlete’s profile picture at the moment. However, highlighted throughout the book are other important people Tebow has met in life.
“The other main characters in this book, their names were also Wish kids that I fell in love with and that lost their battle most against cancer that are looking down from heaven now. This book was really written to honor Bronco and these Wish children that fought so courageously and all of them have incredible, amazing stories that I wanted to honor,” Tebow said.
Tim Tebow works with the Make a Wish Foundation. He is also a part of other groups that helps special needs children make amazing memories. In fact, he met his wife Demi-Leigh at Night to Shine. This is a Tebow foundation that helps host prom for special needs individuals.
He also has his W15H with Tim Tebow Foundation which provides children with travel, accommodations, dining reservations, gifts, and one-on-one time with Tebow himself. He has helped provide experiences at NFL games, Award shows, Disney World, and many more locations.
Tebow continues to advocate for who and what he believes. He often talks about his relationship to God as well as his relationship with people. His book is available for sale, click here to purchase.
