Tom Brady and Gisele Bunchen – the couple surely takes the title of the most super couple of all super couples. But how did the quarterback and model really meet?

Would you believe something as simple and normal as a blind date? A friend of the quarterback knew this nice girl Tom Brady might like. Oh, the friend happened to be a Victoria’s Secret model who probably banked more money than Brady did at the time.

Brady relayed the story of how he met Gisele last year, about a month after he abruptly left the New England Patriots and signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. As any football fan knows, Brady worked his Super Bowl magic on the Bucs and now Tampa literally is staying home to play in Super Bowl LV.

Brady told Howard Stern the Gisele meet-cute details: Brady said he thanks the friend “to this day.”

“I had gotten out of a relationship and (Gisele) had been out of a long-term relationship that she had, so when we met I wasn’t quite sure if I was ready for a relationship. “I didn’t think I was, but we met and hit it off. When she walked in I just thought she was the most beautiful woman I’ve seen in my life.”

Tom Brady and Gisele Equal Instant Chemistry

Gisele revealed what she thought of Brady during an interview with Jimmy Fallon.

“You know, when I saw those kind eyes, I literally fell in love, like, right away,” Gisele said. “I was like, ‘What?’ He was just so—you know how sweet he is.”

Brady was coming off a relationship with Bridget Moynahan. The actress, then, mostly was known for playing Mr. Big’s wife, Natasha, in Sex and the City. She still was four years removed from “Blue Bloods.” What Brady didn’t know was that Moynahan was pregnant. She went public with her pregnancy in February 2007.

During an interview with CBS This Morning, Gisele conceded that she wanted to run away when she found out about Moynahan’s pregnancy.

“It was a challenging thing because here I am, you know, thinking, I’m dating this guy, we met, and we started dating and everything is great and then this happens. So, then I felt like I didn’t know what to do. It was kind of one of those moments of like, ‘Do I just run away?'”

Gisele Stuck Around, Pair Were Married in 2009

Gisele stuck around. Moynahan gave birth to son, Jack. And Moynahan says she has a good relationship with Tom Brady and Gisele. In fact, Moynahan posted her congratulations to Brady after the Bucs beat Green Bay Sunday to win the NFC title and a berth in the Super Bowl.

“Could not be more proud @tombrady said he would do it and he did. Congratulations @buccaneers.”

Tom Brady and Moynahan share custody of Jack. For more information about that relationship, check out this Outsider story.

Meanwhile, back to Brady and Gisele. The two married in February, 2009. They had two ceremonies, but both were small and low key. Twenty guests attended the first ceremony at a chapel in Santa Monica, outside Los Angeles.

“We planned it in like 10 days, and it was perfect,” Tom Brady told GQ later that year.

The couple invited close friends and extended family to a weekend in Costa Rica later in the spring for a wedding celebration.

And, the whole affair was so casual and normal.

“People ate Mexican food and drank margaritas,” Gisele wrote in her autobiography,  “Lessons: My Path to a Meaningful Life.”

Guests “sat or stood in the kitchen, or on the lawn, or by the side of the pool. My sister Pati and Tom’s sister Julie each read a beautiful poem, and everyone had a slice of the chocolate wedding cake.

“Tom had made playlists — his had songs by Ray LaMontagne, Amos Lee, James Taylor, and other. And at some point my friend Nino … plugged in his iPod. The kids went swimming in the pool, while guests danced around in their bathing suits.”

Tom Brady and Gisele share two children, plus Jack. They’re just a normal, blended family like everybody else, with a quarterback/super model vibe.
