On Sunday (July 4th) NFL star Tom Brady took to Instagram to pay tribute to his mother, Galynn Patricia Brady, through a super special birthday post.

“Happy Birthday Mom,” Tom Brady writes. “We are so blessed to have your love, support and nurture us in all that we do! You are the best example of unconditional love in our lives and so happy we are all together on this Fourth of July!” The sweet post features a snap of him standing next to his mother.

Doctors diagnosed Tom Brady’s mother with breast cancer during the 2016 football season. Brady previously spoke about the situation in a 2017 interview with WEEl 93.7 FM by noting she was recovering well and the prognosis was good.

He also reveals to 247 Sports that his mother is doing really well and gets scans every three months. “We’re always kind of praying and hoping they come back clean,” he says. “So far they have, and we’re very blessed.”

Tom Brady Shares Details About His Move to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers

During an interview with Good Morning America this past spring, Tom Brady spoke about his move to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers last year. “I was always kind of motivated by people that say ‘you can’t do it,’” Brady explains. “You know, ‘you’re not good neigh, you’re not fast enough, not big enough, you’re not good enough arm.’ I think that’s the great part about football. It’s not really about what you did last year.”

Tom Brady revealed that the motivation pushed him to make a move to the Bucs last year. He also reflects on the switch by stating, “I think that’s a big part of what I understood last year, it’s things are gonna be different.”

He also spoke about the differences between the Buccaneers and his old team, the New England Patriots. “You know, when you’re at the Patriots, everyone would always come to me and introduce themselves to me because I was of the mainstay.” He then says that when he moved to the Bucs, he was the new guy for the first time and it was a totally different experience for him.

Future NFL Plans

Tom Brady also admitted to USA Today that he doesn’t have any plans to retire from the NFL any time soon. “I’ve always said 45 was the age that I wanted to reach and that was my goal.” Tom is turning 44 this year and plans to play this upcoming season.

“If I still want to keep playing, I might be able to do that. And, if that’s enough, then that would be enough,” Tom Brady adds.
