Former UFC star Chuck Liddell faces domestic violence in an early Monday morning incident.

Authorities booked Liddell in the Lost Hills Sheriff Station on a $20,000 bail.

According to Yahoo! Sport, the 51-year-old man married Heidi Northcott in 2010. The couple has two children, and the family lives in the Hidden Hills section of Los Angeles.

Police listed the former UFC light heavyweight titleholder as 6-foot-2 and 240 pounds. Also, in the police report, Northcott did not require medical attention.

Liddell’s manager, who is also his wife, and his attorney were unavailable for comment on Monday.

Monday’s Incident

TMZ Sports said Liddell was still in jail Monday morning. Police said a verbal argument turned physical.

NBC News reported that Liddell must appear in L.A. Superior Court in Van Nuys on Wednesday.

The website also reported that Liddell’s last fight was against Tito Ortiz in 2018. The fighter reportedly told TMZ he retired in 2020. Since retiring, he had served as a referee for the Aaron Carter-Lamar Odom Celebrity Boxing match in June.

The UFC inducted the fighter into its Hall of Fame’s Pioneer Wing in 2009.

Liddell has also appeared on reality TV shows, in cameos, and starred in movies.

Liddell Angled For Paul Fight

After internet celebrity Jake Paul took on mixed martial artists Ben Askren, Liddell said he wanted to fight Paul in May.

Bleacher Reporter reported that the former UFC light heavyweight champion was “ready anytime for that clown (Paul).”

At that time, Liddell had lost six of his last seven fights. But the fighter was still a potent UFC fighter then. Maybe some signals got crossed or something. Liddell tried to stir it up with Paul.

“He’s not good enough to fight me,” Liddell told TMZ Sports in another interview. “It just doesn’t make sense for him. None of it makes sense for this guy. He’s going to risk getting hurt like that?”

Then, Paul defeated Tyron Woodley in August. Paul is trying to lineup a fight with Tyson Fury, and that Liddell-Paul match is totally out of the cards now.

In June, Liddell tried to talk up another fight with either former NBA stars Charles Barkley or Shaquille O’Neal. In talking with ex-UFC commentator Jimmy Smith, He said the possible bout would be “fun.” Barkley is 58.

In talking about fighting 49-year-old O’Neal, Liddell said he’d fought tall opponents before. He even admitted it would be interesting.

“You gotta remember, one of my sparring partners for a long time was 6’10. So it’s not big, but I trained with (6-foot-10 MMA fighter) Gan McGee for forever, and my brother is 6’4, 6’5, 300 pounds.”

Liddle said he was already in awe over Shaq’s physique.

“Shaq’s a big man,” Liddell said. “I’m always around big guys, but Shaq’s one of those few guys you go up to and go ‘Damn, Shaq’s big.’”
