Following a video of Urban Meyer at a bar going viral, the head coach of the Jacksonville Jaguars is now speaking out about his behavior.

During a press conference on Monday (October 4th), Urban Meyer took to the podium and apologized to the Jacksonville Jaguars before being a distraction. “I just apologize to the team and staff for being a distraction. It was stupid,” Meyer declared.

Urban Meyer also revealed that he was at an event and people were trying to get him on the dance floor. He admitted he never should have put himself in that situation, to begin with, and he should have left.

Fox News reported that in the viral video, Urban Meyer appeared to be sitting on a barstool as a woman danced in front of him. Meyer also appeared with the woman in a snapshot. It’s unclear exactly when the video happened.

Twitter Reacts to Urban Meyer’s Viral Video Apology

After Urban Meyer issued an apology for the viral video, Twitter users took to the social media platform to share their thoughts on the situation. Some of the users more or less brushed off the situation. One user tweeted, “I’m guessing the players probably didn’t care and they all laughed and had some jokes and then moved on.”

“Who cares he was enjoying himself, that’s him and his [wife’s] business…. People are so weird to make this a viral thing.” Another Twitter user went on to write.

Others weren’t so kind with their words. “Resignation coming soon, no doubt… or esophageal spasms,” stated a Twitter user. “This man has a history of poor decisions. And yet he is in a position to lead young men again,” another Twitter user declared.

Urban Meyer and the Jacksonville Jaguars Now Struggling to Get Their First Win of the 2021 NFL Season

Meanwhile, the Jacksonville Jaguars are starting the 2021 NFL season on the wrong foot, as the team’s record is currently 0-4. Last week, the team lost to the Cincinnati Bengals 24-21.

Speaking about the recent game, Urban Meyer reportedly stated that the loss was both devastating and heartbreaking. “Usually, I’m not wrong about stuff like that. That I just see a good team in there. I see good guys. Good hearts. I see guys at work and I told them I’m not wrong about that stuff. This team is going to win some games.”

The Jacksonville Jaguars are set to play the Tennessee Titans on Sunday (October 10th). The Titans so far have a record of 2-2 in the 2021 NFL season. This is Urban Meyer’s first year as head coach of the NFL team. He was previously the head coach of The Ohio State University from 2012 to 2018.
