WATCH: Buffalo Bills Fans, Police Cars Celebrate Playoff Win in the Streets

When the Buffalo Bills celebrate a home playoff win, everyone gets involved, even the cops.

And why not? We take you to Allentown, the neighborhood just north of downtown Buffalo. It’s late Saturday night, moments after the Buffalo Bills finished off the Baltimore Ravens, 17-3. Fans even tweaked the name of the area to “Josh” Allentown as a nod to Buffalos beloved quarterback Josh Allen.

Jeannie McBride, a reporter/anchor for Spectrum News Buffalo, tweeted: “Josh” Allentown celebrating the #Bills win! What better place?? PS: The #Bills are ONE game away from the Super Bowl.”

Now, note the video. Even the policemen honked and flipped on their lights at an intersection to celebrate the second playoff victory for the Buffalo Bills. Win an important football game, it’s all flowers petals and world peace.

Party On Buffalo, Try To Take It Through January

The partying was all kinds of innocent, especially in the times of Covid-19. Fans honked. They gathered outside Bills Stadium in Orchard Park to serenade the Baltimore Ravens as the team bused back to the airport to head home.

An entire generation of Buffalo Bills fans are new to this sort of success that had been reserved for the New England Patriots, the elite team of the AFC East. But this year, the Patriots missed the playoffs. It’s up to the “Bills Mafia” to represent the division.

About 6,700 fans were lucky enough to be in Bills Stadium for the victory. They redefined loud. Their cheers were so deafening, Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson had a difficult time calling out signals.

“What a great environment,” Buffalo Bills coach Sean McDermott told reporters after the game. “I know all of our fans couldn’t be in the building, but it was loud again. Great atmosphere. We came here with a vision, and seeing it move forward in the right direction feels good.”

The Buffalo defense made the most significant play of the evening. Baltimore was on an eight-minute drive in the third quarter with a chance to tie the game. On third-and-goal from the 9, Jackson didn’t see Taron Johnson in the end zone. The Bills cornerback snatched the interception and turned on the jets. No one caught Johnson, who returned the pick six a record-tying 101 yards.

Will the party in western New York carry on past January?

This Is First Time Buffalo Bills Will Play For AFC Title In 27 Years

This is the first time since the 1993 season the Buffalo Bills earned a spot to the AFC title game. Fans are hoping the end of the 2020 season plays out much the same way, except for a major tweak at the end. Twenty seven years ago, Buffalo beat Kansas City for the AFC title. But the Bills lost to the Dallas Cowboys in the Super Bowl.

Today, Bills fans will be keenly watching the Cleveland-Kansas City playoff game at Arrowhead Stadium.

If the Chiefs, the defending Super Bowl champs, beat the Browns, Buffalo will play Kansas City on the road. KC is the top seed of the AFC playoff bracket. But if the upstart Browns pull the upset, Buffalo will host Cleveland at Bills Stadium.

But you can count on this. The party in Buffalo will continue through the upcoming work week.

Bills players will carry on like crazy normal, whether they’re dancing in practice or having a snow ball fight as team owner Terry Pegula films it.
