Following the Buffalo Bills’ loss to the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC Championship Game on Sunday night, Stefon Diggs stayed on the field to witness the opposing team’s celebration.

Stefon Diggs had an incredible debut season with the Buffalo Bills. After arriving in an offseason trade from the Minnesota Vikings, Diggs led the NFL this season in both receptions (127) and receiving yards (1,535). As a result, he was deservedly named a first-team All-Pro by the Associated Press.

And despite the loss to Kansas City, Diggs also put together a terrific playoff run. The star wideout caught 6 passes for 128 yards and a touchdown against the Colts. Subsequently, he caught eight passes for 106 yards and a touchdown against the Ravens, and 6 passes for 77 yards against the Chiefs.

Unfortunately for Diggs, however, the Bills’ season came to an end following that Chiefs game. Diggs and his Bills lost the AFC Championship Game, 38-24.

Following the game, the Chiefs celebrated their second consecutive Lamar Hunt Trophy on the field. Meanwhile, all the Bills players made their way to the locker room. All of them except Diggs, that is. He stayed on the field, taking in the moment. He watched as the team that just knocked him out of the dance raised a trophy in celebration.

There’s no doubt that watching your opponent celebrate after accomplishing the very thing you set out to achieve is a tough thing to do. There’s a reason not many players remain on the field after games to watch that happen. But apparently, for one reason or another, Stefon Diggs just felt the need to be out there. He definitely was able to get a good look at what he missed out on when his team fell short in the AFC title game. We get the feeling this is something he will use as motivation going forward.

Stefon Diggs and Bills Season Comes to an End

It’s sad to see the magical run that was the 2020 Buffalo Bills season has come to an end. Many experts saw an improvement coming, but no one saw a potential Super Bowl team. And for that, Buffalo has plenty of reasons to be proud about this team.

Although the team was certainly disappointed in the loss to the Chiefs in the AFC Championship game, many players took to social media to express their appreciation for Bills’ fans.

Left tackle Dion Dawkins wrote, “Buffalo thank you for a hell of a season. You guys (The Mafia) has been like no other from the start. We lost to a great team but believe me The Buffalo Bills will come back stronger then no other. Love You #BillsMafia and, Love you #Buffalo”

Running back Antonio Williams also thanked Bills Mafia. He said, “Thank you #BIllsMafia.

It’s sad to see Stefon Diggs and the Bills fall, but there’s no question that they will be a part of the AFC playoff picture for years to come.
