Last year, stands sat empty as the college football season played out. However, like many other aspects of life, college football is going back to normal. Fans around the country are incredibly excited to see the return of the communal atmosphere of the game. We’re all celebrating the return to normal in our own way. One man at a recent game celebrated with a mayo bath.

Now, there’s nothing wrong with a little mayo. It goes great on just about anything you can slap between two slices of bread. However, a mayo bath is a little different. College Gameday shared a video of the man dousing himself in the creamy condiment.

The practice of dousing someone in some fluid isn’t new. Soaking the coach at the end of a winning game is a time-honored tradition. There’s something about that splash of cold liquid that truly conveys the excitement of the team. However, taking a mayo bath is a whole new level of celebration.

The may bath took place during the Duke’s Mayo Classic at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, North Carolina on Thursday. The action between Appalachian State and East Carolina matched the September heat. However, fans on the sidelines had their own competition. Instead of hitting the gridiron, they took to the condiment bar. Those fans competed to see who could eat the most Duke’s Mayonnaise. It seems that this fan took it to a higher level with a mayo bath.

Wait. There are Benefits to a Mayo Bath?

If you watched this fan slather himself in mayo and had to fight your gag reflex, you’re not alone. Taking a mayo bath is probably not on your list of things to do today. However, there are some proven benefits to covering yourself in the creamy substance.

For one, mayonnaise is great for your hair. It works just as well as any conditioner that you can pick up at the store. Additionally, it’ll probably be easier on your wallet. At the same time, you can’t put Pantene conditioner on a tomato sandwich. Well, you can, but you shouldn’t. Ever.

Mayo is also great for your skin. You can use a heaping spoonful of the condiment in place of several expensive facial creams. It’ll leave your skin clean and smooth and you can put it on a burger. It’s a win, either way, you look at it.

Additionally, you can use mayo like you would aloe to soothe a sunburn.

So, the guy taking a mayo bath at the Duke’s Classic was showing his excitement for the return of college football. However, he’s going to come out the other side of the mayo bath with soft hair and glowing skin.
