It’s probably not the best idea to try to out-wrestle two professional wrestlers surrounded by security. Regardless, one rowdy All Elite Wrestling (AEW) spectator took his chances. It didn’t exactly work out in his favor.

AEW Wild Night

Chris Jericho and Maxwell Jacob Friedman were getting ready to face-off at the Miami James L. Knight Center. Jericho was making his way into the ring as “Judas” played and fans were excitedly singing along. At that moment, one fan decided to jump the barricade and try to get in the ring.

Immediately, security jumps on his back and wrestles him to the ground like they’re professional wrestlers themselves. In a fan video, you can see the fan being brought to the ground and escorted out.

Luckily for that overexcited fan, security got to him before Chris Jericho did, otherwise, things likely wouldn’t have been so pretty. Right as the fan was getting pulled away from the ring, Jericho did give the fan one goodbye punch on his way out.

The combination of being wrestled to the ground and punched by a professional wrestler was likely not an all-too-fun experience.

All in all, it was a pretty thrilling night for wrestling fans. Especially those who’ve been away from the live sport for the last year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

That night, Chris Jericho also agreed to go up against four opponents that Maxwell Jacob Friedman gets to choose for some stipulation matches. It’s all to try to prove who the best of the best is.

Conor McGregor and Dustin Poirier Fight

Meanwhile, outside of the AEW world, UFC fans are getting pumped for an upcoming highly anticipated matchup.

On Saturday, July 10, is one of the biggest fights of the year. Popular fighters Conor McGregor and Dustin Poirier are battling it out in the lightweight main event of UFC 264. The two are fighting at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

This isn’t the first time the two UFC fighters have gotten in the ring together. This is the third matchup and will decide, for many fans and spectators, who the best of the best is. McGregor won during the first face-off and Poirier shocked viewers when he won with a second-round TKO back in January for their second competition.

The two got together for a press conference on Thursday that got a little nasty as well.

Poirier is pursuing the trilogy in order to get his hands on the lightweight title. According to CBS Sports, a win for either competitor will get them a shot at the champion, Charles Oliveira, later in the year.

The fight is attracting a lot of attention from those in the UFC world and those outside of it. “I think McGregor is very good in rematches and I think he’s going to have the victory. I think he’s probably going to win in the second round by knockout,” Former UFC Welterweight Champion Georges St-Pierre said.

Meanwhile, Food Network icon Guy Fieri, Dan Hardy, Stephen Thompson, and Ciryl Gane are all siding with McGregor as well. On the other side, Sylvester Stallone, Kamaru Usman, Javier Mendez, and Chris Pratt have all vocally sided with Dustin Poirier.
