WATCH: NASCAR Fan Makes the Terrible Decision of Running Onto the Charlotte Roval Mid-Race

There are some folks who just take things a little too far when they are out in public. One NASCAR fan put that on full display at The Roval. Charlotte, North Carolina was host to the lastest race in the Cup Series Playoffs.

The Roval is an oval/road course hybrid that tests drivers. With so many turns, this fan thought he could just skip over the fence and run out onto the track. He does just that as the end of the pack goes by and then he gets himself into a bit of trouble. Watch below.

For fans who were puzzled about a mystery caution flag without a wreck or other problems, this is the culprit. An extra lap got thrown on because a very brazen and bold fan decided to take his talents onto The Roval. NASCAR has tried to prevent this whenever possible. There’s a reason he found himself talking to police afterward.

Look, we all know that friend that drinks a few beers and gets near some fast cars and loses their mind. The American flag tank top with the sunglasses on the back of the head was the cherry on top of the entire scene. This fan also decided to delete the original video, but not before someone else grabbed it for Twitter.

It seemed this fan got a little bit of karma. He was run off the track by safety vehicles immediately. When he hopped the fence back to the stands, he also landed on his face a bit. The entire thing took just seconds, but you just know he’s going to tell the story for years. It is never a smart idea to run out onto a NASCAR track. Ever. Just don’t.

NASCAR Cup Series Heads to Texas Motor Speedway

Charlotte at The Roval showed us a lot of things. One of the revelations had to be the fact that Kevin Harvick and Chase Elliott really don’t like each other. Harvick wrecked Elliott, but it was the No.9 who got the last laugh. Harvick wrecked out of the race and out of the playoffs.

So, the Round of 8 is set and the competition is heating up. Kyle Larson took the win in Charlotte and won the regular-season title earlier this year. He is a favorite to top the playoffs this year. However, nothing is guaranteed. Denny Hamlin, Kyle Busch, and others like Elliott will be gunning for those top spots.

Larson, Hamlin, Elliott, Busch, Ryan Blaney, Joey Logano, Brad Keselowski, and Martin Truex Jr. are all in the Round of 8. That all begins with the NASCAR Cup Series Playoffs go to the Texas Motor Speedway. The Autotrader EchoPark Automotive 500 will be the first in the round.
