WATCH: Patrick Mahomes, Kansas City Chiefs Stars Called Out by UFC Fighter for Badminton Match

One UFC fighter used his national airtime on Saturday night to call out Kansas City Chiefs star players Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce, and Tyreek Hill.

On Saturday, UFC middleweight fighter Julian Marquez had just submitted Sam Alvey with a rear-naked choke in the second round at UFC Vegas 23. And after his win, he wanted to let the people know that he was, in fact, the baddest man from Kansas City.

“I am the entertainment you paid to see, but ABC gave it to you for free,” Marquez said. “So now I have a callout to give out to everyone from Kansas City. You guys know I’m the baddest man from Kansas City. The baddest middleweight in Missouri and this is one thing, it’s my time right now.”

Marquez then goes on to make his official callout of the three Chiefs stars. Mahomes, Kelce, and Hill are arguably all three the best in the league at the respective positions.

“So Travis Kelce, Patrick Mahomes, Tyreek Hill, I challenge you guys to a badminton or pickleball competition. Straight up, if you guys want to see who the pound-for-pound champ is in Kansas City. This magnificent beard tops all of what you guys have to bring.”

The official ESPN MMA Twitter account posted a clip from the post-fight interview.

“You heard the man,” ESPN MMA wrote. “@JMarquezMMA wants @tkelce, @PatrickMahomes, @cheetah in badminton or pickleball 😅 #UFCVegas23

Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce, and Tyreek Hill Respond

It did not take very long for Patrick Mahomes, and the other Chiefs’ star players to respond to Julian Marquez’s callout. In fact, all three took to social media to say that they accept his challenge of either badminton or pickleball.

Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce was the first of the three teammates to respond. He suggested, “We can settle ALL this up at Chicken N Pickle! LFG!!!”

Meanwhile, the Chiefs star quarterback responded to Marquez by saying he might need a little time to prepare.

“Need a couple weeks but I’m always down for a challenge,” Kelce said. Tyreek Hill commented shortly after simply saying, “👀 I’m down.”

Marquez has been rising up the UFC middleweight rankings as of late. Saturday’s finish of Sam Alvey made it Marquez’s third win in his last four fights. And there is no doubt that calling out three of the most high-profile athletes in the world after a win will definitely catch a few more eyes.

We will follow along closely here on Outsider to see if he and the former Super Bowl champs end up hitting the badminton court.
