Wrestling Star Jon Huber, Also Known As Brodie Lee, Dead at 41

Wrestling star Jon Huber has died at the age of 41. His wife Amanda said his death was the result of a lung issue unrelated to COVID-19.

Jon Huber Mourned by Industry

Huber wrestled with All Elite Wrestling and WWE under the names Brodie Lee and Luke Harper. His career in the wrestling industry spanned 18 years, ESPN reported, and his wrestling peers universally respected him.

At 6 feet 5 inches and 275 pounds, Huber was not to be trifled with. But many wrestling insiders described him as a genuinely nice guy and a family man.

“The All Elite Wrestling family is heartbroken,” All Elite Wrestling said in a statement. “In an industry filled with good people, Jon Huber was exceptionally respected and beloved in every way – a fierce and captivating talent, a thoughtful mentor and simply a very kind soul that starkly contradicted his persona as Mr. Brodie Lee.”

Moreover, “Jon’s love for his wife Amanda and children Brodie and Nolan was evident to all of us who were fortunate to spend time with him,” AEW went on. “And we send our love and support to his beautiful family, today and always. Jon’s popularity among his peers and influence on the wrestling world was worldwide and transcended AEW, so this loss will be felt by many for a long time.”

Leaving Behind a Wife and Two Kids

Meanwhile, Amanda Huber publicly thanked doctors and nurses at the Mayo Clinic who treated her husband. She described him as her “best friend.”

Huber was a Rochester native who worked his way up in the wrestling world. He reportedly started out driving around to wrestling matches in the hopes that one of the wrestlers wouldn’t show up and he could take their place. That led to a stint with World Wrestling Entertainment and, eventually, All Elite Wrestling.

Huber leaves behind his wife and two young children.
