WWE said on Wednesday that executive and pro wrestler Paul Levesque, known as “Triple H,” was recovering after heart surgery.

Variety reported that the sports entertainment company had released a statement about Levesque’s health.

“Paul Levesque, a.k.a. Triple H, underwent a successful procedure last week at Yale New Haven Hospital following a cardiac event,” WWE said. “The episode was caused by a genetic heart issue and Paul is expected to make a full recovery.”

Levesque has been with WWE, headed up by Chairman Vince McMahon, since joining the company in 1995. As “Triple H,” he held individual and tag team championships. He also played a role with the company during its “Attitude Era” back in the late 1990s.

WWE Star Helped Form ‘Attitude Era’ Faction ‘D-Generation X’

“Triple H” joined up with Shawn Michaels, Chyna, X-Pac (Sean Waltman), and tag team New Age Outlaws (Brian James and Billy Gunn) to form “D-Generation X.”

Recent years, though, have seen Levesque in his role as a WWE executive work on the company’s “NXT” programming. Levesque is the founder and executive producer of that show. He’s worked alongside Michaels with “NXT,” which has been an extension of WWE’s development program. But there have been some reports in the pro wrestling world about his “NXT” role. Apparently, McMahon and longtime executive Bruce Prichard will be taking over that show.

He also currently serves as WWE executive vice president of global talent strategy and development.

Levesque has been married to WWE executive Stephanie McMahon, Vince’s daughter, since 2003. The couple has three children.

It is not your right to know more.”

Another fan, Moizee, wrote, “Going through Twitter and seeing people make remarks or lame attempts at jokes about Triple H having a genetic issue that he had an episode and needed surgery and saying it’s because of AEW and things that have been going on are truly out of sense or reality. Don’t be idiots.”
