After learning of Jon Huber’s passing, Bray Wyatt opens up about his friendship with the WWE superstar.
Although sometimes dysfunctional, the Wyatts truly were a family both in and out of the ring. Wyatt, whose real name is Windham Lawrence Rotunda, played the villainous cult leader of the Wyatt Family along with Huber as his brother Luke Wyatt. The Wyatt family quickly became a crowd favorite for WWE fans. Together they won titles including the NXT Tag Team Championship and the WWE SmackDown Tag Team Championship.
After learning of Huber’s passing on Saturday night, Wyatt took to Instagram to share photos and to pay tribute to his “brother.”
Along with several photos of the two together, Wyatt writes, “You were my best friend. My brother, my partner, my Terry Gordy. We changed this whole game because we refused to do it any way but OUR way…”
Bray Wyatt Planned To Be ‘Fat, Bald, and Useless’ With Huber
In the same post, Wyatt jokes about the future plans he and Huber had together as old, worn-out ex-wrestlers.
“…it was supposed to be us fat, bald and useless running Wyatt Family spots in high school gyms in our 70’s,” writes Wyatt.
As Wyatt apologizes for the abruptness of Huber’s death, he promises to take care of Huber’s wife, Amanda, and their children. Wyatt says that he will make sure that Huber’s kids know the “real” Huber, not just his Luke Wyatt persona. He finished the post asking Huber to “save him a seat” wherever he is. Wyatt then signs the post with his real name, Windham.
The Wyatt family was pivotal in helping both Wyatt and Huber progress in the WWE world. More importantly, the two played significant roles in each other’s lives as friends and brothers.
