Sturgis Motorcycle Rally 2021 Grand Marshal Jody Perewitz Brings Impressive Reputation With Her to Annual Event

You don’t become the grand marshal of the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally 2021 without some pretty impressive credentials. And, that is exactly what Jody Perewitz has brought to the table this year.

First of all, Perewitz is the daughter of the famous Dave Perewitz. He is best known as the “King of Flames.” His famous bike-building shop continues to draw motorcycle enthusiasts to its Brockton, Massachusetts, location year after year.

“Sometimes I think I was born on two wheels. Motorcycles are a part of my family business so I have always been around two wheels,” Jody Perewitz said in 2018.

In addition to her impressive family lineage, Jody Perewitz has made a name for herself. In fact, the name she has made for herself is an impressive one indeed. That name is the “Fastest Woman On Two Wheels.”

That title earned by the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally 2021 grand marshal is rightly deserved. During her career, Jody Perewitz has set 16 land speed records. She also has a World Record to her name. In addition to these accolades, Jody has gone faster than any other woman riding an American V-twin-powered motorcycle on the Bonneville Salt Flats. As part of this effort, she raced to a speed greater than 200 miles per hour. Sturgis Motorcycle Rally 2021 grand marshal Jody Perewitz also has four AMA number one plates to her name.

As the grand marshal of the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally 2021 Jody Perewitz became only the second woman to receive the honor of leading the famous event in South Dakota.

The first woman to serve as the grand marshal of the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally was Jessi Combs. She was known more for her speed and prowess with four-wheeled vehicles as opposed to tow. However, Combs had the respect of the officials behind the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally. Combs was the grand marshal during the 2017 event. She was the first woman ever to have that role.
