Taco Bell isn’t interested in “living más” anymore. The fast food chain is officially removing five additional items from its menu.

On November 5, Taco Bell is getting rid of its popular Mexican Pizza, both shredded chicken products, and pico de gallo. These changes are in a bid to “make room for new innovations.”

The restaurant insists that getting rid of the Mexican Pizza is part of its commitment to becoming more eco-friendly. The Mexican Pizza packaging contributes to over 7 million pounds of paperboard a year.

Those jonesing for pico can get diced tomatoes instead. After Taco Bell removes shredded chicken from its menu, a chicken chipotle melt will appear in its stead. A new Dragonfruit Freeze iced drink will also be available.

Taco Bell makes additional menu cuts

This is the second time in less than three months Taco Bell has removed popular items from its menu. Earlier in July, a Taco Bell employee took to Reddit to spread the word about soon-to-be disappearing items.

The Grilled Steak Soft Taco, 7-Layer Burrito, and Quesarito were some of the first to go. The taco joint also ceased serving several other items. This included the Beefy Fritos Burrito, Spicy Tostada, and Triple Layer Nachos. The restaurant also cut potato items like the Spicy Potato Soft Taco, Cheesy Fiesta Potatoes, and Loaded Grillers. Mini Skillet Bowls departed the menu around the same time.

These items left the menu on August 13 in a bid to “streamline operations,” according to a lengthy statement from the company.

“This evolved menu approach comes after months of analyzing the new way we are running our restaurants,” the statement read. “With safety top of mind, we want to ensure an easy and fast ordering experience for our guests and team members.”
