During a difficult time for many people, one school joined forces to make life easier for one person in need of a little help. It’s a beyond heartwarming moment.

Custodian Surprised with a Brand New Car from Teachers

Teachers and school workers have faced a difficult two years due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Chris Jackson is a custodian at Unity Grove Elementary School in Henry County, Georgia. Jackson was struggling financially and had to walk to work each day and other faculty members noticed. It was an hour-long walk, otherwise, he was forced to take a bus, which could sometimes be unreliable.

Staff and faculty then pitched in to buy Jackson a brand new car. Now, the video of the touching moment has gone viral. In the video, you can see as Jackson walks toward the group of people gathered in front of the school. He is taken to the car and handed the keys.

At that moment, you can hear Jackson say, “I would’ve never dreamed of something like this … this is mind-blowing to me.” He also goes on to thank the teachers again and again for their heartwarming act of kindness.

According to a Facebook post from the school, the teachers also went a step beyond the car. They also raised funds for him to find housing and to be able to make his utility payment. “Little did we know, it was his favorite type of car, and he was stunned to know that it was HIS!” the school shared in the post.

Chris Jackson spoke to Alive 11 News regarding the amazing act of kindness he was the center of. “I didn’t run away. I just stay … put my pride aside … come to work, smile, be me,” Jackson told the news outlet.

His positive attitude was infectious in the school. Despite dealing with a not-so-great situation at home, Jackson brought positive energy to school with him that teachers easily noticed.

“There has never been a day where he has not come in with a smile on his face. The kids here adore him. They love Mr. Chris. And he just works so hard,” Special Ed Teacher Jodi Combs told the news outlet.

Since the news was shared, social media users rejoiced in the amazing good deed. Country music star Mickey Guyton reposted the video and wrote, “Restoring my faith in humanity. God is so good.”

Another Twitter user also reacted by writing, “So awesome. Can’t even put into words. So heartwarming to see some good in the world. We all could learn from expressions of love like this.”

His reaction to that brand new car from teachers has well over 1.5 million viewers, as well as thousands of comments.
