During a recent interview, Mötley Crüe’s drummer Tommy Lee made a bold statement when he threatened to leave America if President Trump wins the 2020 election, and social media has gone crazy over the celebrity’s comments.
During an interview with The Big Issue, the famous musician said he will move back to Greece if Trump is re-elected in November since he was born in Athens.
“Dude, I swear to god if that happens then I’m coming over to visit the U.K. I’m out of here,” Lee said emphatically in the interview. “I’ll go back to my motherland, go back to Greece, and get a house on one of the islands.”
Lee said he thinks Trump has embarrassed America. In addition, he says people around the world wonder what has happened to our country.
“The thing that stings the most is that I feel like we’re embarrassing,” Lee explained in the interview. “I feel like people in Europe and the rest of the world look at America and think: ‘What are you guys doing over there? Stop voting for celebrities and get someone real to run the country.'”
Lee’s recent interview is not the first time he has criticized Trump during his presidency. His criticisms of Trump date back to at least two years ago when he spoke out against the president’s comments pertaining to the 2018 California wildfires.
Additionally, the drummer bashed Trump for his poor management of the COVID-19 pandemic. Furthermore, he was unapologetic as he called Trump and the first lady’s positive results for COVID-19 “karma.”
Twitter Goes Crazy After Tommy Lee Comments On Trump’s Re-Election
Tommy Lee is no stranger to controversy. He’s made a career out of his wild lifestyle and his band Mötley Crüe’s debauchery. However, the legendary drummer is now facing a wave of criticism online after he said he would move to another country if Trump wins the 2020 election.
Many Twitter users shared posts saying that Lee moving wouldn’t be a bad thing. One user even offered to help him pack his bags.
Others amusingly didn’t even know who the famous musician is after his Trump comments went viral throughout social media.
Some fans of Tommy Lee agreed, and want to join him on the move if he leaves the country.
Finally, some Twitter users simply don’t believe that Lee will actually follow through with his threat.
