A 1-year-old in Georgia is now the youngest victim to pass away due to COVID-19 effects, the state health department reported on Friday.
Cobb County Public Health spokesperson Valerie Crow said the child had some serious medical conditions. However, Crow would not provide any extra information, including when the baby passed away and what exactly caused the death. Furthermore, the name of the child was not released, but they did report that he was a young black male.
The child was treated at a hospital in Cobb County which is outside of Atlanta. No other specific details of the baby’s death were shared with the public due to privacy laws.
