Before the news broke that Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez officially called off their engagement, Rodriguez posted a tribute clip on his Instagram Story. In the clip, he pans across various pictures of them throughout their four years together. After posting the cryptic clip, his followers theorized that the former Yankees player was reminiscing on their romantic relationship.
The clip, set to the tune of Coldplay’s song, “Fix You,” seemed to be a heartbreaking homage to his former fiancee. Followers could hear the lyrics, “tears stream down your face,” in the background. He also panned the camera across a collection of photos of the two.
The images highlighted moments of their relationship, beginning in 2017. In one photo, followers see them embracing on New Year’s Eve 2020. Later, he also revealed several pictures of their children and an image of their names written inside of a heart.
As for Lopez, she has yet to make any social media posts since the couple confirmed their split. Her last post on the platform were photos of herself looking unbothered, leaning out a car window.

On Thursday, they confirmed the breakup after revealing the news to the “Today Show.” In the joint statement, they said that they “are better as friends.” They added, “we have realized we are better as friends and look forward to remaining so.”
“We will continue to work together and support each other on our shared businesses and projects. We wish the best for each other and one another’s children.”
They added that “the only other comment we have is to say is thank you to everyone who has sent kind words and support,” and asked for privacy “out of respect” for their children. The news comes weeks after rumors circulated that they were attempting to “working through some things.” In March, it was reported that they had broken up.
However, the reports were initially denied by the couple. A source later told PEOPLE, “They never officially broke up and talked about it but are still together. They hit a rough patch. But [they] were not broken up.” That source added the couple “want to try to stay together.”
In the following weeks, publications reported that the couple were working through a rough patch. In February, Lopez revealed they were attending couples’ therapy together.
