These are the top 10 drive-thru restaurants in the United States according to customer satisfaction. According to Newsweek, FoodserviceResults conducted a study on the best drive-thru restaurants in the country.
Over 1,000 customers completed the survey about their overall satisfaction at several restaurants. Categories included cleanliness and sanitation, menu item availability, and friendliness of the staff.
The list ends with the best restaurant according to the study, listed as number one.
10. Burger King
The Home of the Whopper scored 87% (average) in overall experience. Customers ranked the company lowest in the cleanliness and sanitation department. It scored a 79% in those areas. In regards to menu item availability and quality of food, the burger restaurant scored a point higher than its over-all score at 88%.
9. Dairy Queen
Known for its assortment of ice cream, Dairy Queen tied with two other drive-thru restaurants. It has an overall experience score of 89%. Like Burger King, the drive-thru score lowest in cleanliness and sanitation (82%). But it performed well in regards to speed of service and quality of menu items (89%).
8. Hardee’s / Carl’s Jr
Like Dairy Queen, Hardee’s/ Carl’s Jr scored a 89% for overall experience. But it also scored better than Dairy Queen for cleanliness and sanitation. In regards to order accuracy, customers rated the restaurant 90%. The restaurant also scored 89% for availability.
7. Starbucks
The coffee brand may mega-popular, especially among younger generations, but it didn’t rank the best overall. Starbucks did have a better overall rating than some of its peers (93%). Customers rated it 91% for quality of menu items and 90% in friendliness of staff and cleanliness and sanitation.
The restaurant had its lowest scores in speed of service (88%) and menu item availability (88%).
6. Wendy’s
Wendy’s is popular these days for its biting sarcasm on social media. Like Burger King and Dairy Queen, Wendy’s ranked its lowest for cleanliness and sanitation (84%). Overall, customers rated the restaurant chain 90%.
5. Dunkin’ Donuts
Like Wendy’s, Dunkin’ Donuts ranked 90% in overall experience. The restaurant scored its lowest in menu item availability (87%) and order accuracy (87%).
4. Panera Bread
Known for its sandwiches and soups, Panera Bread ranked slightly better than Dunkin Donuts with an overall experience rating of 91%. Customers rated the restaurant high in cleanliness and sanitation (93%) and friendliness of staff (92%).
However, its speed of service could use some improvement, scoring 89%.
3. Culver’s
While not as widely known as some of its peers, Culver’s ranked third over-all in the nation’s best drive-thrus. Culver’s sells an assortment of frozen custard and butter-burgers. The restaurant ranked its highest for speed of service (91%) and its lowest for cleanliness and sanitation (88%).
2. Arby’s
Like several restaurants on this list, Arby’s could improve in cleanliness and sanitation (82%) and friendliness of staff (87%). But customers rated the restaurant high in regards to menu item availability (93%), the quality of the menu items order (92%), the accuracy of their orders (91%) and the speed of service (91%).
1. Chick-Fil-A
With scores like these, the other restaurants never stood a chance. Chick-Fil-A’s excellent customer service is so widely known that it’s become a meme online. The restaurant scored higher than 90% in all its categories. The restaurant’s highest category was order accuracy (95%). Meanwhile, it’s lowest score was in menu item availability.
