Brian Laundrie’s Dad Has Three Words for News Crews on First Time Leaving House Since Son’s Remains Found

After more than a month of searching for person-of-interest Brian Laundrie, his remains were finally found in a Florida wildlife reserve. Now, his family wants time to grieve. Chris and Roberta Laundrie were subject to hateful messages and protesters. This is largely due to speculation they knew more about Gabby Petito’s death than they were saying. However, the family that just lost their son want it all to be over. And Chris Laundrie had some words for the press that constantly surrounds the home.

The parents left their home for the first time since finding their sons remains, The Daily Mail reports. They quickly got into their red truck and backed out quickly. As they did so, Chris told reporters to “let me grieve.”

No doubt the Laundrie family are experiencing all sorts of devastation since the Gabby Petito case emerged. According to the family’s attorney, they will also not have a funeral for Brian. His remains will be cremated and given to the family “when the time comes.” A forensic anthropologist is being sought to determine the 23-year-old’s cause of death.

Last Wednesday, the Laundries told the FBI they wanted to search for Brian once again in the Carlton Reserve – a place they thought he went when he left the home September 13. While the area was searched extensively, officers did not find Brian anywhere in the park.

Due to heavy rainfall, the area was covered in water and there were areas they couldn’t search. However, that ended when remains were found near a swamp. Authorities also found a notebook and a backpack belonging to Brian.

Focus Turns to Domestic Violence Awareness in Gabby Petito Case

The demise of Gabby Petito and Brian Laundrie is something experts will examine for years to come. The two were in a possibly toxic relationship. Friends of the pair said they were on-again off-again. Despite these issues, the two embarked on a journey cross country. During their travels, Gabby often posted videos and social media posts.

On one of their stops, the two got into a physical altercation with a witness saying Brian hit Gabby. Though bodycam footage shows a very upset Gabby, officers didn’t press charges against either her or Brian. Shortly after, Gabby went missing. The 22-year-old was found dead in a Wyoming park. She’d been strangled to death.

The bizarre details of the case drew national attention. Experts, journalists and web sleuths have analyzed their relationship to shed light on domestic violence. Unfortunately, the case seems to have no answers right now. The Petito family continues to grieve as they do their part to assist with other missing persons cases.

During a press conference, the family announced the Gabby Petito Foundation which would focus its efforts on helping bring missing people home. Now, the family is hoping Brian’s notebook that was found near his remains will bring some answers about what happened to Gabby on that roadtrip.
