You Can Now Buy Chick-fil-A on a Sunday for the Sacreligious Price of $6.66

How many times have you woken up on a Sunday morning craving Chick-fil-A? It would be the perfect companion for a day full of watching football. But no matter how many times it happens, it seems like it always takes a few moments for the realization to set in. You won’t be dipping nuggets or waffle fries in that sweet, sweet Chick-fil-A sauce nectar, after all. The king of fast-food chicken sandwiches is closed on Sundays.

Or is it? A group of people in the Brooklyn area of New York City will have the opportunity to order Chick-fil-A sandwiches on Sunday, September 26.

No. The famed fast-food chain has not suddenly decided to change its policy of closing down on the Sabbath. But people would be losing their minds in excitement were that the case. The Sunday sandwich availability is due to an art exhibition, of all things. MSCHF is the collective behind such stunts as the blood-filled shoes featured in the controversial “Montero” music video from Lil Nas X. Now, they’re carrying out something they call “Sunday Service.”

Part art collective, part merchandiser, MSCHF plans to acquire a limited number of sandwiches from Chick-fil-A locations on September 25. They will then re-heat the coveted food and deliver it to customers in the surrounding area the next day.

“…let’s take advantage of the obvious hole in the market left by notoriously Christian restaurant chain Chick-fil-A’s sabbatarianism,” part of the MSCHF “manifesto” reads.

The cherry on top? MSCHF has intentionally set the price of their second-hand sandwiches at $6.66. If people were mad about the Lil Nas X shoes, it’s safe to assume they’re going to be bothered by this.

Meanwhile, Chick-Fil-A is Busy Donating More than 10 Million Meals as Part of Their Shared Table Program

Say what you will about Chick-fil-A, 10 million free meals is no small feat. In July, a press release reported that the chain’s Shared Table program has resulted in a staggering number of donated meals. By being more conscious of their leftover food, 1,200 locations across the country combined to help soup kitchens and food shelters.

“At Chick-fil-A, we are committed to making a positive impact in the local communities we serve. And the Chick-fil-A Shared Table program is one way we help care for those in need. We know that a nourishing meal is a critical need for millions of people. And we are so proud of the incredible milestone that restaurant Operators, their Team Members and partnering local organizations have reached together through this initiative,” the press release read.

So the chain making a difference on the charity side of things. But it’s also keeping customers satisfied. Chick-fil-A earned the title of America’s favorite fast-food chain for the seventh year running.
