The battle for the best chicken sandwich continues to heat up. Chick-fil-A, best known for its chicken sandwiches and high level of customer service, just tossed out a game-changer in the ongoing sandwich war.

We all know the chicken chain is the sauce boss. They’ve got something for everyone: the eponymous Chick-fil-A Sauce, standard Barbeque Sauce, Garden Ranch, their famed Polynesian Sauce, and plenty more. In total, you have eight sauces to choose from. Now, a new sauce has entered the ring.

Recently, rumors began swirling that the beloved chicken chain is now offering another sauce option. If you’re scratching your head, wondering how you didn’t know about this— it’s probably because it’s not mentioned on the menu. Chick-Fil-A has a type of “secret menu” only die-hard fans are privy to.

Chick-Fil-A Debuts New Cheese Sauce

Fear not: we’re about to fill you in on this secret item. You can ask for a special Cheese Sauce as an optional condiment at many of the chain’s locations.

Now, this isn’t your standard nacho cheese sauce. In fact, it’s a creamy blend of Swiss and Parmesan. You can use the sauce for dipping your waffle fries, chicken nuggets, or Chick-n-Strips. Heck, you can even pour it over hash browns or biscuits when you get your breakfast fix. In some cases, you can spread it on sandwiches.

According to a Chick-fil-A representative, you can get your hands on the sauce in any of the 600 restaurants nationwide. You can also check its availability at your nearest location through their mobile app.

Of course, the sauce is a delicious addition to any Chick-Fil-A meal. However, it comes with its caloric downsides. According to Eat This, A serving of this rich cheesy sauce will add at least a dozen grams of fat to your meal.

If you’re looking to trim down the calories, try avoiding the Garden Herb Ranch sauce as well, which is almost just as unhealthy as the cheese sauce when it comes to the fat content. On the other hand, surprisingly, the Barbecue Sauce, Honey Mustard Sauce, and the Sweet and Spicy Sriracha Sauce are fat-free options.

However, the chain is still undergoing a limited amount of sauces at their stores. A few weeks ago, the chain announced that it was experiencing a sauce shortage and was giving out limited packs to its customers. And yes, that includes ketchup and mustard, too. As of now, there is no word as to when Chick-Fil-A will end their sauce rationing.
