Disneyland to Debut One of the Most Expensive Sandwiches in the World at $100

Most people would agree that Disneyland is expensive, but the resort just launched a $100 sandwich. Disney California Adventure’s menu for the Pym Test Kitchen has the $100 dollar item on the menu. Needless to say, people are a bit spooked.

Thankfully, there’s a reasonable explanation. The sandwich is actually intended for 6-8 people. The sandwich, called the “Quantum Sized Pym-ini” sandwich, contains salami, rosemary ham, provolone, and more tasty ingredients and is served with a dipping sauce. For seven people, the sandwich is $14.

Still, a price point like that makes the sandwich one of the most expensive in the world. Hopefully, the other sandwiches on that list are intended for multiple people as well.

The biggest dilemma really comes from finding enough people to agree on what to eat. Thankfully for those who want to try it but don’t have 5+ other pals willing to share, the sandwich is also available as a single serving for $14.99.

Disneyland’s ‘Pym Test Kitchen’ Contains All Sorts of Illusions

The point of the Pym test kitchen is that everything looks enlargened by “Pym Particles,” which is a reference to Marvel. The kitchen is a part of Disney California Adventure’s Avengers Campus, which opens on June 4th. Disney purchased Marvel in 2009.

While the Quantum Sized sandwich takes a more literal approach, other items on the menu get more creative. For instance, the “not so chicken little” sandwich puts regular-looking chicken sandwich ingredients between slider buns, making the chicken appear huge. Another dish, “The Impossible Spoonful” is a pasta dish with a meatball that’s around the size of a baseball.

‘The Avengers’ Campus to Contain Multiple Marvel-Themed Attractions

Disney originally scheduled The Avengers Campus to open in July of last year. Of course, pandemic-related restrictions made that impossible. The upcoming June opening has been long anticipated by fans of the superhero-centered film franchise.

Disneyland is opening attractions for both kids and adults. Their new Guardians of the Galaxy ride may become one of the bigger “thrill” rides in the park. Intended for teens and adults, the ride promises a big drop and lots of immersive fun.

“With incredible special effects, appearances by popular characters, music inspired by the soundtracks from the movies, thrilling free-fall drop sequences and 6 different storylines to experience, this adventure breaks out all the big thrills!” the Disneyland website describes.

Disneyland is also opening up a Spiderman-themed attraction called WEB SLINGERS: A Spider-Man Adventure. It’s intended for all ages. The campus also includes multiple other sights and the Pym test kitchen dining experience.

While many people would argue Disney is expensive, you don’t have to worry about a single-serving $100 sandwich. But if you and six other friends want to split a massive sandwich between the group, you can do so at the test kitchen.
