Dog the Bounty Hunter’s Stepdaughter Says FBI ‘Is Never Going To Let’ Him Catch Brian Laundrie

Since Gabby Petito’s death up-roared the nation, one notable reality TV star has stepped in. Duane “Dog the Bounty Hunter” Chapman has single-mindedly decided he will track down person-of-interest Brian Laundrie and bring Gabby’s case to justice. While his mission is intriguing to some and entertaining to others, it’s also causing Dog’s step-daughter to question his motives.

The 28-year-old daughter of Dog’s late wife Beth, Cecily Chapman, thinks what the TV star is doing is ridiculous. She’s been very public with her comments. She talks about how Dog’s actions are just a publicity stunt to further his career – despite Dog’s claims that he wants to help the cause.

“Realistically how is he doing this, what the hell is he doing, and who is funding this nonsense!?” Cecily Chapman said, according to Newsweek.

“He’s trying to distract everybody from everything, that’s what he does. He tries to hide his problems.”

She also stated: “To be completely honest with you, the FBI is never going to let Dog the Bounty Hunter catch Brian anyway—the FBI is way too prideful for that.”

From Dog’s initial start, his stepdaughter has been annoyed with the whole ordeal. She claims everything he’s doing is staged. Which is also not furthering the investigation, she said.

However, in the weeks since Gabby’s death, Dog has aggressively pursued leads on the case. He’s been working with former law enforcement. He’s also reportedly turned over evidence to the police. Further, the TV star has been profiling Brian Laundrie and does not believe he’s suicidal or dead.

This belief is fueling his search as various sightings and tips come in about Brian’s whereabouts.

“Tracking a fugitive is a marathon, not a sprint,” Dog the Bounty Hunter said. “We are continuing to search for Brian Laundrie. The longer he is on the run, the more dangerous this becomes.”

Additionally, Dog has been seen wading waist-deep in the waters around Fort De Soto Park. He’s been searching a campsite where Laundrie reportedly stayed. The reality television star has also knocked on the door of the Laundrie family’s North Port home.

Whether his obsession with the case simply mirrors that of the thousands of web sleuths, or it is a publicity stunt, is unknown.

However, Dog the Bounty Hunter has most recently given up guest appearances on television. This includes “Swamp People,” in order to focus more intently on the Gabby Petito case. This seems to indicate he’s very invested in the search for Brian Laundrie.

Whatever the case, Gabby Petito’s family said they’re grateful for every resource. This is as long as it brings Gabby’s case some justice. The family is also dedicated to helping other families find their missing loved ones.
